We have a few tips for spending your leisure time. The city and its region offer many options.
Prague
The Czech Republic’s capital, Prague, offers a vast number of cultural and social experiences. The city is world-famous due to its historical monuments, which are tied to the eventful history of the city and country. One of the most impressive experiences can be had by walking through the city’s historical centre. The famous Royal Route starts at the Powder Tower, by the Municipal Building. It will lead you through the medieval Old-Town Square, with its beautiful landmark – Týn Church, and across the famous Charles Bridge. You can end your walk at Prague Castle, the monumental seat of Czech kings and presidents. Alternatively, you can take a walk along Petřín Hill, which boasts views of the entire city, visit the ancient Vyšehrad, or take a steam-boat ride down the River Vltava, to Prague ZOO.
You can also visit one of Prague’s museums and galleries, such as the Technical Museum, or the National Gallery, which has a number of unique collections.

Karlštejn Castle
Probably the country’s most widely known and most significant castle is located 30 km southwest of Prague. The castle was built by the King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, to house the imperial crown jewels and holy relics, and later, the castle housed the Czech coronation jewels. The most precious space in the castle, and one of the greatest chapels in all of Europe, is the Chapel of the Holy Cross, with a set of paintings by Master Theodoric. Note: visits to the Chapel require advance booking, which can be done via the Internet.
Chateau Konopiště

The romantic Chateau Konopiště is about 40 km from Prague. Its last inhabitant was František Ferdinand d´Este, the successor to the Austrian throne who was assassinated in Sarajevo. The chateau is surrounded by a large park and features a moat in which bears reside.
